Welcome to BankBlackwell (in Organization). When we started organizing BankBlackwell in October 2003, we set out to create the nation’s first African-American Direct Community Bank. We sought to organize a federally chartered savings bank that utilized the Internet, the telephone and mail to offer selected financial services to African American individuals, churches and all other consumers who seek value, convenience and community.
On February 28, 2005, the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) approved our application to organize a federal savings bank. Our application for deposit insurance is pending with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In accordance with our OTS approval, we are offering approximately 1.6 million shares of common stock at an offering price of $10.00 per share. The minimum subscription is 100 shares or $1,000.
